Summerlee,
West Virginia Mission Trip
Pictures and
captions by Brenda Bosserman
The Summerlee mission project originated in the mid 1980’s in response to
flooding in West Virginia. Since then, churches from our area go every year,
under the leadership of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Waynesboro, Va., to
repair and fix-up homes of people in need.
On July 10th, people from Mt. Horeb formed a caravan and headed off to
Fayetteville, WV to work from July 10th to 15th . This is the eighth year Mount
Horeb participated and was well represented by:
John, Brenda, Rachel & Rebecca
Bosserman
Gail and Jeremy Carr
Patti, Austin and Ashlee Craig
Mark, Hanna and Caitlin Eckroth
Rev. Braxton Garriss
Janice, Chris, & Amy Mowbray

Repairing and applying roofing is a
"hot" job. Here Janice Mowbray and Ashlee Craig take drinks up to the
workers on the roof to keep them hydrated. |

Amy Mowbray worked on the Trash Crew as they
visited all the worksites daily and collected debris; it was then hauled to a
dumpster. Here she tries to fill the dumpster but realizes she has a lot more
work to do. |
